Al Boka
AIMS Treasurer
Al Boka became a committed runner while attending university and has run 36 marathons, including the 100th Boston Marathon. He has a best marathon time of 2:45:07. He founded the Las Vegas Marathon, in 1981, initially attracting 157 runners. He developed it through the years until 2004 when he sold it to a large corporation. By the time of sale race attendance had reached the 10,000 level including runners from more than 30 countries.
He was nominated for the position of AIMS Treasurer in 1996 by the outgoing AIMS Secretary/Treasurer, Andy Galloway, and was duly elected. Since then he has developed procedures and policies which define and control AIMS financial matters. These controls over spending have greatly contributed towards the favorable financial position which AIMS enjoys today. In 2018, Al became a co-director of the Nanjing Luhe Zhuzhen Half Marathon in China. Al also remains as the AIMS coordinator for the current iteration of his original creation which is now called the Rock ‘n Roll Las Vegas Marathon.

Hugh Jones
AIMS Secretary
Jones is currently the Race Director for the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K, Tata Mumbai Marathon, TCS World 10K Bengaluru and the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. He has also gone on to become an expert in the science and knowledge of marathons and enjoys a tremendous relationship with athletes and organizers from around the world. He is the course measurer for the London Marathon, one of the largest marathons in the world and was also the IAAF appointed official in charge at the Sydney Olympics. Jones is the official course measurer for Run-Bangla and measured the course for the 2020 Run-Bangla-CCCL International 10K, the first ever internationally sanctioned (AIMS-IAAF) distance race in Bangladesh history.
